Have you ever seen this mixture of colors and elements in a kitchen? I haven’t. There is something so stunning about dark paint with brass accents and when you add in natural oak cabinet fronts and two different stone slabs…WOW! Just beautiful!
I love the trend of using different metal accents in modern kitchens. From bright chrome to aged brass the choice of metal can make or break the look and this kitchen got it right! The four (yes four!) brass pendant lights over the center island definitely make this look! And by the way, did you notice the patterned tile backsplash? Yep! Just right!
I’m so happy to be back this week with another installment of the “15 Most Beautiful” series! It’s all about the modern farmhouse kitchen this time, and for good reason. I am currently working on a modern farmhouse spec house with my great friend and designer Tracey Allison and the brainstorming is in full force as we tackle the kitchen. I have been gathering inspiration from Pinterest, so I wanted to share my 15 favorite modern farmhouse kitchens with you all. While they are all very different there are common elements that define this design trend. There is so much I love about this style…let me know which one is your favorite!
CLEAN AND RUSTIC
I love this beautiful white kitchen with reclaimed wood accents, open shelves and brass door hardware. It is the perfect mix of modern and rustic with a touch of farmhouse flair.
DRAMATIC BLACK AND WHITE
This photo kept showing up on my Pinterest feed as an ad for lighting, but I was mostly enchanted with the cabinet colors. I love the mix of black and white paint on the upper and lower cabinets. This is such a fresh take on the modern farmhouse kitchen. Mixed with gold accents, it is modern farmhouse perfection!
STONE SPLENDOR
Between the stone wall and the marble backsplash, this kitchen has a warmth and rustic appeal that I love. The addition of wood beams and modern lighting blend together classic farmhouse and modern design elements in the perfect way.
UNFINISHED OAK BEAUTY
The simplicity of unfinished oak and clean white tile mixed with raw wood beams in this kitchen give me all of the yummy modern farmhouse feels. The glass cabinet with all white dishware is a perfect way to keep the look clean while still being warm and approachable.
SMALL SPACE-BIG IMPACT
Modern farmhouse style can be achieved in any size space. This kitchen includes all of the elements I love the most…Shiplap on the walls, open shelving, modern door hardware a gorgeous range hood. Combined with the bright white cabinets and those stunning antique glass door fronts, this is a winner in my book!
SIMPLE OPEN SHELVING
Sometimes all that is required to achieve a modern look is a new take on cabinets. The open shelves in this kitchen give it a fresh modern look that is not fussy but makes a big impact.
LIGHT AND BRIGHT
What I love most about this modern farmhouse kitchen is that it only has a couple of elements that say farmhouse. The rustic wood detail on the center island, the open shelves and the shiplap and wood range hood. Nothing fancy here, just a light and bright look with a farmhouse twist.
UNEXPECTED DRAMA
When I came across this kitchen on Pinterest, I immediately studied all of the details that make it look simultaneously warm yet modern. I adore the color of the perimeter cabinets and the dark wood countertops. The cement floors add a sleek modern feel and the dropped wood beams bring in the farmhouse feel that I love. This kitchen has all of the design elements I love without sacrificing warmth and style.
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL
I think it take a strong sense of style to paint kitchen cabinets pure black. This kitchen has a bold and beautiful farmhouse feel and yet still looks bright and modern. The brass hardware and light fixtures add a much needed warmth and are the perfect compliment to this gorgeous kitchen.
SOFT AND SUBTLE
In contrast to the previous kitchen, this soft and subtle modern farmhouse kitchen is still dramatic but in a soft and subtle way. I especially love the oversized door hinges and hardware on the center island and the soft gray color of the perimeter cabinets. The simple pendant lights over the center island complete the look.
FRESH AND SIMPLE
The triple gold pendants over this center island would be reason enough to share this beautiful modern farmhouse kitchen, but add in the cement tile backsplash and I am sold! I love how subtle the color of the backsplash is and yet it adds interest without being too overpowering. This kitchen hits all of the right notes for me.
WALL OF GLASS
Can we talk about this wall of glass cabinets?! I absolutely love this look! It is so modern and at the same time warm. And did you notice the black range and range hood? Eek! I cannot say enough about all of the modern farmhouse elements in this kitchen!
DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS
Have you ever seen this mixture of colors and elements in a kitchen? I haven’t. There is something so stunning about dark paint with brass accents and when you add in natural oak cabinet fronts and two different stone slabs…WOW! Just beautiful!
BRASS BEAUTY
I love the trend of using different metal accents in modern kitchens. From bright chrome to aged brass the choice of metal can make or break the look and this kitchen got it right! The four (yes four!) brass pendant lights over the center island definitely make this look! And by the way, did you notice the patterned tile backsplash? Yep! Just right!
ECLECTIC FARMHOUSE
I have shared this kitchen before, but when modern farmhouse is right…it’s right. The oversized pendant light make a bold statement and yet somehow still work hanging from the drop beams, Genius!
